How many images can I upload to my ApplePrints account?

You can upload as many images as you want. There is no limit on the number of images you may store on your account. However, there is a limitation to the size of an image and file format. Any given image cannot exceed 1.5 M in size, and it has to be either JPEG or JPG file format.

How long will you keep my account open?

Your account will stay open as long as you want. However, if we notice no activity on your account for more than 6 months, we will contact you to confirm whether you would like to continue to be a member of our service. If you would like us to extend your membership, you can do any one of three things:

  • Respond to our E-mail by clicking on Please extend my account
  • Login to your ApplePrints account
  • Send us an E-mail asking to extend your account for another 6 months

How do I upload my pictures?

Step 1: Click on Add Pictures link (the link is located at the top of the screen) and simply follow the Add pictures screens by clicking the Next button.

Step 2: You need to select an album for your images, either the existing album or a new album. You will see today’s date as a default title for your new album, which you can change by typing a new title (20 characters). Click Next.

Step 3: When you upload pictures for the first time, ApplePrints provides you with two upload options:

(1) Option One: (Recommended) Installing image uploader - ActiveX component (“upload software”) that allows you to upload multiple pictures to the selected album conveniently (MS Internet Explorer only).

To use this option, you need to install the “upload software” by accepting an installation wizard. The installation process is quick and simple (10-30 second - modem connection). Once installation is finished, the uploader will be visible on your screen. Simply go to your picture folder and the thumbnails of the images will appear on the right side of the uploader. If the folder contains a large number of images, it may take up to 1 minute to redraw the thumbnails. The pictures can be selected individually or you can use select all option (double click on the picture to preview). The pictures can be rotated, and a brief description can be added in the box below the thumbnail. Once you are ready to upload selected images, click on send to ApplePrints button. The “uploading progress” box will pop-up on your screen followed by “upload complete” message.

(2) Option Two: Using a standard browser file upload option.

When using the standard browse option, you need to individually select picture files on your hard drive by clicking the browse button and then the upload button. You can upload up to 10 pictures at a time. When upload is finished, you will get a confirmation message. If you want to upload more than 10 images, please repeat the steps.

Step 4: To check the uploaded images click on Next button, which will bring you to the selected album.

What kind of file formats can be uploaded to ApplePrints?

We only accept JPEG and JPG, the most commonly used image file formats.

Do you accept scanned images?

Scanned images are no problem, but they have to be in JPG format. Make sure the quality of you scanner is sufficient enough, so the prints will not be any different from the original pictures. Try to use a lowest possible amount of the JPEG compression.

What kind of Internet connection is required?

There is no specific requirement. Any type of Internet connection will work. However, if you are using a 56K modem, the average upload speed is about 1 minute per 100K. If you are using a 56K modem and uploading a lot of pictures, you may want to do it over night. If you are using DSL, Cable or other similar connections, the average upload speed is about 1 minute per 500K. If you have access to a T1 connection, the average upload speed is about 1 minute per 2,000K.

What is the fastest way to upload all of my pictures to ApplePrints?

If you do not have a fast Internet connection, we recommend you burn a CD(s) with your entire picture collection and take it to a location with a broadband connection. With a broadband connection, you can upload hundreds of pictures in a matter of minutes. Alternatively, you can send us your CD, and we will do it for you. Please see How do I send CD with my pictures to ApplePrints?
